The American Major League (MLB) New York Yankees have reinforced another big front executive.

Minaya, who started his front career as a scout for the Texas Rangers, discovered Sammy Sosa in 1984 and received high praise.
In return for scouting Sosa, Minaya was promoted to international scouting executive at Texas and moved to New York Mets assistant general manager in 1997.
In 2002, he became general manager of the Montreal Expos (predecessor to the Washington Nationals).
Minaya is the first Latin American to become a major league general manager.
Minaya, who served as the general manager of the Mets from 2004 to 2010, served as an advisory member of the Players Union from 2015 to 2017 and as a scouting consultant for the Major League (MLB) Secretariat last year, gaining various experiences.
