The Lotte Giants started the week with a bang, but manager Sutton wasn’t satisfied.
Lotte came from behind to win 10-5 먹튀검증 against SSG Landers in the regular season finale of the Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League 2023 at Sajik Stadium in Busan on April 15. The win extended Lotte’s winning streak to two games and improved their record to 48-51 on the season. SSG had its two-game winning streak snapped, falling to 55-42-1.
Starter Park Se-woong pitched a quality start, allowing two runs on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts in six innings to snap a personal five-game losing streak. Park picked up his fifth win of the season. At the plate, Information Geun went 4-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two walks to complete a career-high five-strikeout game. Jin-hyuk Noh also had a solid day at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs.
Manager Larry Sutton, however, was disappointed to see three errors on the day. The first error came in the fourth inning when Choi Ju-hwan doubled with one out. A relay between left fielder Lee Jung-hoon and second baseman Ahn Chi-hong broke down on the replay, resulting in an error. It was officially recorded as a throwing error by the left fielder, but it was more likely a throwing error by the second baseman.
In the seventh inning, Kim Sung-hyun’s grounder to first base was missed by third baseman Gudrum. And in the ninth inning, with the score 10-5, Oh Tae-gon’s fly ball to center field was dropped by second baseman Park Seung-wook. The team was forced to bring in closer Kim Won-joong.
“Compared to Park’s last start, today was a game where he was able to stay focused and make adjustments from inning to inning, and he was able to get a quality start with effective pitches rather than a high pitch count,” Sutton said.
“It’s a one-run game, but it’s also a game where we know we need to work on the details,” he said, pointing out the defensive mistakes, “but I’m glad we were able to give our fans a victory that they were passionate about.”
