Bayern Munich’s star striker Harry Kane is wary of Manchester United.
Bayern Munich is set to host Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League Group A first leg at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, on Monday (Aug. 21).
Bayern Munich has made no secret of its intentions to win the Champions League this season. In the summer transfer window, the Bavarians brought in Konrad Reimer and Japhael Geheiro on a free transfer. Last season’s best defender in Serie A, Kim Min-Jae, was acquired for €50 million ($706 million). Tottenham Hotspur’s ace, Harry Kane, made a splash by signing him for €120 million ($169.6 billion).
Recent form has been good, too. Since the start of the Bundesliga, Munich has won three straight games against Werder Bremen, Augsburg, and Borussia Mönchengladbach. Despite a 2-2 draw against Bayer Leverkusen on Sept. 16, Munich is currently cruising in second place in the Bundesliga.카지노
Unlike Munich, United has struggled this season. United are in 13th place in the EPL with two wins and three losses (six points) in five games. They lost their last game at home against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sept. 16, 1-3. This is the first time United has lost three of its opening five games since the EPL began in 1992.
Off-field issues are also plaguing United. Jadon Sancho was banned from first-team training after complaining to coach Eric ten Hagg on social media. Anthony Martial’s return has been delayed after he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend. According to the UK’s The Sun, a locker room brawl broke out after the loss to Brighton between captain Bruno Fernandes, midfielder Scott McTominay, and center back pairing Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof.
Despite the tumult on and off the pitch, Kane has been wary of United, saying in a pre-match interview, “It’s a difficult game. I know United are going through a difficult time, but teams like this are dangerous sometimes. “I know they are going through a difficult time, but teams like this are dangerous sometimes. He added: “The Champions League is special. The first match against Munich will be remembered for a long time. I hope it goes well.”
Kane has faced United on several occasions during his time at Tottenham, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 19 games against the Red Devils. Kane was linked with a move to United in the summer transfer window, but ultimately chose Munich. Kane has continued his goal-scoring form in Munich with four goals in four games.
