Im is a right-hander who made his professional debut in 2011 and went 51-69 with eight saves and a 4.80 ERA until last year. He started the year as a long reliever, but a string of strong performances landed him in the starting lineup. As of the 22nd, his record is 5-1 with a 3.18 ERA.

Lim’s performance continued in the NC game at the same venue on the 21st. Although he didn’t get the win, he threw 100 pitches, allowing three runs on seven hits, two walks, one home run, and four strikeouts in seven innings. Thanks to Lim’s performance, LG was able to save its bullpen and hold on for a 9-3 victory in a nail-biter that went into the 10th inning.

Speaking before the game on the 22nd, manager Yoon Kyung-yeop said, “I’m going to trust Im Chan-kyu more in the future. That way, (Lim) will have a sense of responsibility. I want to treat him like a domestic ace. Yesterday, I should have taken him out in the sixth inning, but I took him out in the seventh inning to say, ‘I trust you more than Seung-jo. You’re responsible for 100,'” said Lim, who encouraged Lim to take charge.

LG’s lineup of Hong Chang-ki (designated hitter), Park Hae-min (center field), Kim Hyun-soo (left field), Park Dong-won (catcher), Oh Ji-hwan (shortstop), Moon Bo-kyung (third base), Kim Min-sung (first base), Lee Jae-won (right field), and Shin Min-jae (second base) will face opposing starter Lee Jae-hak. It is noticeable that Moon Sung-joo is out and Lee Jae-won is in.

Coach Yoon said, “(Moon) Sung-ju is weak against changeups. He’s good at hitting changeups that curve into the bell, but he’s weak at changeups that fall into the bell.”
