UFC 290 returns with a featherweight, flyweight double title fight.
UFC 290: Volkanovski vs. Rodriguez takes place July 9 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski (34-Australia) will defend his unified title against interim champion Yair Rodriguez (30-Mexico). The co-main event is a flyweight title fight between two-time UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno (29-Mexico) and his longtime rival Alexandre Pantoja (33-Brazil).
‘Pound-for-pound’ No. 2 Volkanovski returns to featherweight to make his fifth title defense. A top-notch grappler and striker, Volkanovski has defeated Max 메이저놀이터 Holloway three times, Brian Ortega and Jose Aldo, and is now looking to prove he is the undisputed champion by finishing Yair Rodriguez.
Yair Rodriguez was also crowned interim featherweight champion in February with a submission win over Josh Emmett. His overall record is 20-16-3 with one no-contest, with wins over Brian Ortega, Chan Sung Jung, and B.J. Penn. His next target is champion Volkanovski. He’ll look to defeat him and cement his place atop the featherweight division.
